Q. Will it harm the pavers if I use de-icing salts?
A. No, brick pavers are resistant to the effects of de-icing salts
that are Calcium-Chloride or Sodium-Chloride based. Avoid using Magnesium based de-icing chemicals as these are very aggressive
de-icing salts that cause damage to the surface.
Q. What about snow removal?
A. Brick pavers are manufactured to withstand the harshness of winter.
Care should taken to adapt your snow removal equipment i.e. a plastic or rubber cover should be placed over any steel blade
that may come in contact with your pavers. Steel blades can cause damage to the paver surface and appearance.
Q: How do I get rid of moss in between my pavers?
A. Moss generally develops in the shaded areas that are slow to dry up after rain. If you want
to remove it, it is recommended that you simply pressure wash the surface after applying a solution of 20% dish soap &
80% water to the surface. It is important to remember to not use the pressure washer on high power or too close to the surface
when rinsing. Always keep the nozzle at a 30 degree angle, 12" away from the surface and use the fanned nozzle setting.
Q: How often do I need to re apply the sand in my pavers?
A. In general, every 2-3 years to maintain your paver joints. How long your sand lasts is dependant
upon weather as well as other factors so the timing may vary due to this. Once the sand begins to break down and there are
gaps in the joints, it is time to re sand. The re sanding process requires power washing of the old sand completely out and
the re application of the Polymeric Sand. This is an ongoing maintenance item of your pavers to maintain stability of your
paver joints.
